Yearning

No matter what has blessed us, we know this isn’t everything that could be. We hope it is not all that will be. We yearn for better health, and as we age, we yearn for it more. We yearn for financial security and the feeling of its safety. Love is sought by everyone.
Life is punctuated by times of illness, moments and sometimes years of financial insecurity, experiences of loneliness and even hatred. Jesus said these things would happen. Romans 8:37-39 “
In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Why are we surprised by all these constantly changing conditions of life?
A salesman I know kept a collection of paper clips in his pockets. He had calculated that it took 57 rejections on average before that one client who would buy his product. With each rejection, he shifted one of the 57 paperclips from the starting pocket to the rejected pocket. As the rejected paper clip pocket began to fill, he would get excited because he knew the “good one“ was coming soon.
We too know the “Good One“ is coming. Each day is one day closer to the Messiah‘s arrival. No matter what happens, that is the hope that cannot be taken from us. We yearn for Him more than any thing, any condition, or any person. It is a yearning that will absolutely be fulfilled by our going to Him or He arriving in this, our world.
Come Lord Jesus!

Surround by beauty, glory, and miracles it is hard not to write with gratitude because we are so blessed. A sunrise over the mountains, a perfect azure wave breaking with dolphins surfing through it, a piece of pecan pie with coffee, a grandchild's smile; who are we that God could so richly endow us with these pleasures?! Life is to love and share with others all that we enjoy. View all posts by aguynamedbobblog
